SMU Likely To Look At Warren Report On JFK Death

Posted: 9:20 AM Nov 22, 2012
Reporter: Associated Press

SMU and the soon-to-open George W. Bush Presidential Center will both hold programs next year for the 50th anniversary of the John F. Kennedy assassination - including possibly a look at the theories of how he died.

SMU political science professor James Hollifield tells The Dallas Morning News that a program on the Warren Commission's findings "is tentative but will probably happen."

The Warren Commission found that Lee Harvey Oswald fired at the former president's motorcade as it passed through downtown Dallas. The commission said Oswald acted alone. Some have questioned its findings.

Kennedy died on Nov. 22, 1963. The city of Dallas has planned a ceremony for next year's 50th anniversary featuring Pulitzer-winning historian David McCullough.
