TYLER, Texas - - Police say one man is dead and his alleged killer charged in the slaying after an argument in a Tyler mall spilled into the parking lot.

Tyler police spokesman Don Martin said 23-year-old Chris Mass of Tyler died Saturday morning outside the Broadway Square Mall.

Martin says a 25-year-old from Henderson, Ricky Neal Jr., was arrested at the scene and has been charged with first-degree murder.

Mass died, Martin said, after going to the parking lot with two other men who had argued with Neal inside the mall.

He said preliminary investigation shows that Mass died at the scene from two gunshot wounds to his chest and neck

Martin was not aware that Neal had an attorney yet.

The mall remained open after the shooting.
