Montgomery "Purple" Wins 11th Girls' Golf State Championship in 12 Years

AUSTIN, TX -- The Montgomery "Purple" golf team claimed its 11th state championship in 12 years Tuesday afternoon following a 3 stroke win over Northwest Byron Nelson. Austin Lake Travis came in 3rd, 9 strokes back.

UIL Girls' 4A State Championship Leader board

1st Montgomery Purple 622
2nd Northwest Bryon Nelson 625
3rd Austin Lake Travis 631

Laura Lindsey led the Lady Bears with a 36 hole total of 8 over par 152.
Kallie Gonzalez shot a 9 over par 153, Abby Bradley shot an 11 over par 155, Kirby Sullivan shot an 18 over par 162 and Paige Roberts rounded things out with a two day total 23 over par 167.
