COLLEGE STATION, TX -- Former Texas A&M men's basketball player Antanas Kavaliauskas will get his chance to chase Olympic dreams in London this summer as he was recently added to the Lithuanian National Team.

Kavaliauskas, a native of Vilnius, Lithuania, played two seasons at Texas A&M (2005-07) and becomes the first A&M men's basketball player to represent his country in the Olympic Games. Playing in 64 career games for the Aggies, he averaged 9.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest and garnered honorable mention All-Big 12 accolades as a senior in 2006-07 while helping lead the Aggies to the Sweet 16.

The 6-foot-10 center, who was the last player cut before Olympic qualifying, was added to the Lithuanian roster following an injury to veteran center Robertas Javtokas. Team Lithuania will begin its run at the Summer Games on July 29 against Argentina as part of Pool B, which also features the United States, France, Tunisia and Nigeria.

The addition of Kavaliauskas gives Texas A&M a total of 23 athletes and one coach representing 14 countries in the 2012 London Games.
