BRYAN, Texas -- Rudder senior Austin Baron signed a letter of intent on Thursday to play baseball at Galveston Community College. Baron is looking forward to playing on the Gulf Coast. ""I really like how they are ranked in the top 25 in JUCO. It is a great community there and a great place for any college student to go for college. You have the beach, you have all kinds of fishing in the bay. It's a place I really thought I would enjoy."
Baron has been the starting center fielder for Rudder for four years. He is a three time all-district selection. Baron is batting .422 for Rudder this season and has stolen 12 bases.
