Snook girls win second straight 1A State Track and Field title

AUSTIN, Texas -- Brazos Valley high school athletes medaled in seven events at the UIL State Track & Field Meet Saturday and a total of 17 events overall.

The Snook girls won their second consecutive 1A state track title with wins in the 4x200 relay and Shakera Barnes victory in the 400. Brandalayn Williams placed second in the 200 and the 4x100 relay team took second as well.

The Lady Jays racked up 56 points. Second place Dallas Gateway scored 40.

A&M Consolidated's Karis Jochen end up in third place in the 3200.

Giddings' Deon Hickey placed second in the 400 and Kinzie Roberts took third in the discus.
