HOUSTON (AP) - The free agency period was a sobering epilogue to the best season in Houston Texans' history.
Career sacks leader Mario Williams signed with Buffalo, and Houston also bid farewell to veteran offensive linemen Eric Winston and Mike Brisiel.
The first organized team practices this week are giving coach Gary Kubiak his first look at their replacements. He also gets to see the three rookies brought in to add depth along the line, which was a team strength last season.
Rashad Butler and Antoine Caldwell will move in to the starting roles on right side of the line. The Texans used three of their eight draft picks on offensive linemen - Brandon Brooks (Miami, Ohio, 3rd round); Ben Jones (Georgia, 4th round) and Nick Mondek (6th round, Purdue).
