AAA: Texas Retail Gasoline Prices Up 3 Cents
Posted: 05/16/2013 - Retail gasoline prices in Texas have risen 3 cents this week to reach an average $3.41 per gallon.
The national average for a gallon of gas has dropped to $2.15, a dollar cheaper than it was just one month ago. But you can find gas for much cheaper right here in the Brazos Valley; in fact, we have another new low price leader in the area.
The Kroger on Booneville Road at Highway 6 has gas for $1.83, the cheapest gas we could find in the Brazos Valley. The closest competition is the Walmart at Briarcrest and the Valero on
East 29th both are selling gas for $1.86 a gallon.
The most expensive gas we could find was a usual suspect. The Exxon across from A&M Consolidated High School has gas for $2.09 but they are not alone. You'll spend just as much at the Exxon located at Hwy 6 and University.
Now the good news is when it comes to gas prices, Bryan - College Station is starting to pull even with the rest of the state.
Gas in Austin is going for 1.90 a gallon, in San Antonio it's running around $1.88, and in Houston it's selling for as low as $1.69 a gallon.
Now if you see an extreme gas price, take a picture and send to us at pumppatrol@kbtx.com and we'll be sure to pass along those savings and feature your photo right here on pump patrol.
