AAA: Texas Retail Gasoline Prices Up 3 Cents
Posted: 05/16/2013 - Retail gasoline prices in Texas have risen 3 cents this week to reach an average $3.41 per gallon.
An industry group has predicted that more than 2.2 million Texans will hit the road this Labor Day weekend and travel 50 miles or more.
AAA Texas on Tuesday reported nearly 1.9 million Texans plan to drive during the holiday period, which begins Thursday and runs through Monday. Recent AAA surveys found that auto travel is expected to be up 1.3 percent, compared to last year.
The association says nearly 208,000 Texans are expected to fly, while the rest of the travelers will likely go by bus, train or ship.
AAA Texas says the average distance traveled by Texans during the Labor Day holiday weekend is expected to be 482 miles.
The average retail price for gasoline across Texas was $3.46 a gallon on Tuesday.
