Retail Gasoline Prices Across Texas Up 2 Cents

AAA Texas is predicting less traffic for the Fourth of July holiday period as high gasoline prices impact travel plans.
The association on Monday said the number of Texans traveling over the Independence Day period is expected to decline 1.7 percent, compared to last year.
Nearly 2.68 million Texas residents are expected to travel 50 miles or more. Last year about 2.73 million Texans left home for the Fourth of July holiday.
AAA says 2.2 million Texans heading out for the holiday are expected to drive, or about 83 percent of the travelers.
Association spokeswoman Rhonda Wilson says high gasoline prices
this spring have started to impact travel, even as prices continue to drop.
The average retail price for gasoline in Texas is $3.47 a gallon.
