HOUSTON (AP) Retail gasoline prices across Texas have risen a penny this week while the nationwide tally declined.
AAA Texas on Thursday reported the average cost at the pump has reached $3.54 per gallon. That compares to the U.S. gas average of $3.65 per gallon - down 2 cents from a week ago.
The association survey finds El Paso and Corpus Christi have the cheapest gasoline statewide at $3.47 per gallon. Drivers buying gas in Dallas and Fort Worth are paying the most at $3.60 per gallon.
AAA says refinery issues, continued tight supplies and oil prices have contributed to the highest gasoline prices in more than a year. The association says continued unrest in Egypt has also pushed crude oil prices higher.
