IRVING, Texas -- Regular unleaded gasoline prices have fallen by an average of 4 cents to $3.54 per gallon in the weekly AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch survey.
In a statement Thursday, the auto club credited recent global crude oil price declines, the end of the summer driving season, sluggish economic news and a seasonal switch away from more expensive summer gasoline blends.
The statewide average is well below the national average of $3.78, just a penny decrease from last week.
The state's cheapest gasoline is found in Fort Worth, where the average price fell a nickel to $3.47 per gallon. The most expensive gasoline is in Amarillo, where the average price fell 3 cents to $3.60 per gallon.
