It's a big honor for a former pharmacist who served the Brazos Valley for years.
In a ceremony Monday, Hazel Pipkin, who founded and operated the Pharmacy Shop in Bryan for more than two decades, was awarded the first ever National Community Pharmacists Association Lifetime Academic Achievement award.
The announcement was made in California at the 109th Annual Convention and Trade Exposition.
The award honors those who display service in contributions as well as dedication to the education of pharmacy students.
Pipkin has also been the recipient of the American Pharmaceutical Association's Daniel B. Smith Practice Excellence Award, Texas Pharmacist of the Year, and the University of Texas College of Pharmacy's William J. Sheffield Outstanding Alumna Award.
