The site selection announcement for the billion-dollar FutureGen project has been delayed.
The Department of Energy advised the FutureGen alliance Tuesday to postpone releasing a decision until the DOE has had sufficient time to consider the public comments on the final environmental impact study.
FutureGen was expected to make an announcement December 18 on where it will be built. No new announcement date has been given.
Jewett and Odessa are the two Texas locations under consideration. Illinois has the other two finalist communities.
