Construction Has Begun on College Station’s First
Stand-Alone Chick-fil-A Restaurant
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Jan. 21, 2008) – Chick-fil-A, Inc., the nation’s second-largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain (based on sales), has broken ground on College Station’s first stand-alone Chick-fil-A restaurant.
The new stand-alone Chick-fil-AÒ restaurant at 1719 Texas Ave. is projected to open in March. Generating approximately 65 new jobs, the 3,921 -square-foot restaurant will feature Chick-fil-A’s newest interior design, including an indoor playground, award-winning drive-thru and dining room seating for approximately 104 people, with additional seating outside.
Chick-fil-A opened its first restaurant in College Station at the Post Oak Mall in 1982. Since then, four licensed-locations have opened on the Texas A&M campus as well as a stand-alone restaurant in Bryan.
