Allen Academy names new Head of School

Bryan – Allen Academy is proud to announce the appointment of Mark Bloom as its new Head of School. He joins Allen from the Canterbury School in Fort Myers, Florida, where he has been Director of College Guidance for the past four years.
Chosen from a strong pool of candidates, Bloom stood out as particularly well-prepared to take Allen Academy forward. He is an educator at heart, who will listen carefully, build support through consensus and collaboration, encourage growth of staff and students, take initiative, and have the vision to take Allen Academy into the future. His commitment to integrity, empathy, and teamwork will be key components of his leadership.
Bloom received his Business Administration degree from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and his law degree from the Seton Hall University School of Law in Newark, New Jersey. He started his career as an attorney in 1994 and stepped into the education arena in 1997.
He is married to Sharon and they have two small children. The family will move to Bryan this summer.
