NEW YORK (AP) - Stocks have seen modest gains in quiet trading
so far today.
Crude prices have edged lower amid growing evidence of a
slowdown in key global economies, such as Europe and Japan.
Economic data today didn't appear to change concern about the
U.S. outlook. The University of Michigan reported a slightly
smaller-than-expected rise in consumer sentiment early this month
compared to last month. The Federal Reserve reported a slight rise
in industrial production last month.
