One of the country's largest banks is set to consolidate some of its Bryan-College Station dealings.
Monday, Citibank announced it plans to construct a 40,000 square foot facility at Highway 6 and Highway 40 in College Station. Not only will there be a retail bank, but operations and employees from a number of area locations will move into the new facility.
Citibank says that will help them be more efficient for their customers.
"You see College Station, in particular, growing to the south," said Citibank Market President Clay Riebe. " We needed another branch location to cover that area."
If their site application is approved, construction could begin in 60 days, with completion set for November of next year.
"This project represents an important commitment to Bryan/College Station," said Jorge Bermudez, the president and CEO of Citibank Texas in a statement. "Citibank continues to be a major investor and community partner locally and we want our customers to know we are here in a very significant and convenient manner."
The new location will be the eighth financial center in the Twin Cities.
