The Bryan/College Station chapter of Habitat for Humanity has a brand new Nissan Titan pickup, thanks to Nissan North American, Inc.

The auto manufacturer donated the truck because of Habitat's work with hurricane evacuees.

Habitat staff will use the pickup to assist volunteers during home construction.

“We transport tools and materials numerous times each day from our warehouse and local vendors,” B/CS Habitat construction coordinator Robert Cooks said in a release. “Nissan’s generous, heartfelt donation will make a dramatic and immediate difference in building more homes in Bryan/College Station.”

In June 2006, B/CS Habitat got help from the local Home Builders Association in building 10 homes in five days as part of a building blitz.

Four of those homes were sold to displaced Hurricane Katrina evacuees who qualified for the Habitat program and completed all necessary requirements.
