The operative number when a new store opens in Bryan on August 23 is: 99.

California-based 99¢ Only Stores is opening up its newest location in Bryan at the corner of Texas Avenue and Post Office Street, in the old Kroger building.

To mark the occasion, 99¢ Only Stores will sell nine 2GB Apple Nano iPods for 99¢. The music players will be sold to the first nine customers when the store opens Thursday, August 23, at 8 a.m.

The next 99 customers can purchase a scooter for 99¢.

Discounts continue for store customers through Monday, August 27.

The 99¢ Only Stores in Bryan is 18,500 square feet.

The company has 253 stores in Arizona, California, Nevada and Texas
