Saturday's Texas A&M football game against top-ranked Alabama will be the biggest stage in the young career of Aggie quarterback Johnny Manziel. Monday might mark start of some of the biggest sales of Aggie jerseys.

As reported by ESPN sports business reporter Darren Rovell, the number 2 jersey hits stores Monday for the first time. At the start of the season, adidas chose to produce jerseys with a pair of numbers: 12 and 1.

Now that "Johnny Football" has started setting records and making waves nationally, the apparel company had to scramble to get things going. It produces the jerseys overseas and ships them to a warehouse in Indianapolis.

There are usually blank jerseys created that can later be customized in this country. However, with the new jerseys debuted this season, there were no blanks to add a 2 to and get to stores quickly.

Also noted by Rovell is that A&M has had to send cease and desist letters to multiple companies who were attempting to use "Johnny Football" on their products. A&M can't use it either, as the university cannot profit off of its student-athletes.
