College Station Albertsons Closing

There will be one less place to buy groceries in town. San Antonio Based H.E.B. has purchased the Albertsons on University Drive in College Station.

The Albertsons will close as of October 1st. H.E.B. has no plans to open up one of their stores in that location, but will instead lease out the building.

A spokesperson for H.E.B. tells News 3 the local Albertsons was purchased as part of 3 store purchased, New Braunfels location will be closed as well but the Albertsons in Kerrville will be converted to an H.E.B.
