Two major clothing retailers are closing in College Station.
Abercrombie and Fitch and Gap are shutting down in Post Oak Mall.
Reports show both chains are closing about 100 stores each nationwide, and managers locally say they won't reopen in a different location.
Abercrombie's last day in College Station is January 15, while Gap is closing January 26. Both stores say their leases at the mall are up at the end of January.
A manager at Abercrombie and Fitch said many of its employees will be transferred to Hollister Co. in the mall, which is owned by the same company.
Without giving specifics, officials at Post Oak Mall say they have plans in place to fill the vacancies.
