The Downtown Bryan Association (DBA) is pleased to announce the appointment of a local communications professional as the new Executive Director of the organization.
Sandy Farris, currently serving as Communications Director for the Bryan Independent School District, will leave the district at the end of May after a 34-year career as an educator and administrator and join the Downtown Bryan Association.
Farris, who holds a degree in journalism from Sam Houston State University, worked as a marketing professional before entering education. After teaching journalism at Bryan High School for 20 years, Farris became Bryan ISD’s Director of Communications in 2003. Her work has been recognized on a state and national level for its quality and professionalism.
“We are excited to have someone with the skills and qualifications Sandy will bring to the Downtown Bryan Association. Her enthusiasm and passion for Downtown Bryan, combined with her experience and community connections, make her a great fit for the job,” said Ben Hardeman, president of the Downtown Bryan Association board.
The Downtown Bryan Association is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization whose role and responsibility is to coordinate and oversee the growth and development of the historic, arts and cultural districts of the city of Bryan.
