Property Tax Payment Deadline is Thursday

Time is almost out for people living in Brazos County to pay their 2012 property taxes.

Thursday, January 31st is the deadline to pay property taxes in full to avoid a penalty because on February first the late fees start accumulating.

This deadline does not apply to property owners who took advantage of the "split payment" option in November. Those taxpayers have an additional six months to complete their tax payment.

If you're not able to make a payment before Thursday's deadline, you can expect long lines. Tax officials are advising people to arrive early and allow extra time but for your convenience, a drop box is available for walk-ins to leave payments to avoid waiting in line.
