Texas A&M Sets Record for Season Football Ticket Sales

COLLEGE STATION, Texas-Texas A&M has established a new record for football season tickets sold with 42,151 purchased by the end of business on Friday. The previous record was 38,877 prior to the 2008 season. Combined with the 31,000 student season tickets allocated, a total of 73,151 season passes are in place at Kyle Field's capacity of 83,002.

"Along with winning national and conference championships, another goal we've had is to sell out Kyle Field in season tickets," Aggie Director of Athletics Bill Byrne said. "With the tremendous support by our fans, the 12th Man, and the performance by our football team under the direction of Mike Sherman, we are making progress toward that goal. I would highly encourage fans to get your tickets now to be a part of that special environment at Kyle Field, and to support our football team."

Non-conference single game tickets for the season opener against SMU (Sept. 4) and Idaho (Sept. 17) will go on sale online at 12thManFoundation.com or AggieAthletics.com and click on tickets beginning Tuesday, Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. (central). Tickets are $50 each for both non-conference games. Sales will begin at the ticket center within the Zone at Kyle Field at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3 as well as orders will be taken via phone by calling the 12th Man ticket center.

The Aggie road game tickets are also available online, in person or over the phone. The Southwest Classic matchup with Arkansas range in prices from $85 to $300 per ticket. Conference road games at Texas Tech ($98), Iowa State ($65), Oklahoma ($89) and Kansas State ($65) are also available.

Tickets for individual conference games, excluding Texas, will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday. Sept. 6. Sales information regarding individual tickets to the Texas game will be released at a later date.

The Aggie football team reports to campus next Monday, Aug. 8 with the first practice scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 9
