That smell of autumn in the air means Halloween is right around the corner! To mark the start of the “goblins and ghouls” season, Bryan-based The Farm Patch is teaming with MSC OPAS for a homemade scarecrow contest.
The contest started on Monday, October 10 and continues through Saturday, October 22. Would-be scarecrow makers should deliver their homemade creations to The Farm Patch between now and 10 AM on October 22. The judging will commence at 10 AM on October 22. Therefore, only scarecrows delivered to The Farm Patch by 10 AM on that day will be eligible. The Farm Patch is located at 3519 South College Avenue in Bryan.
MSC OPAS will provide three representatives to judge the scarecrows. The scarecrow-judging aficionados will score the entries for uniqueness and creativity. The designers of the scarecrows with the highest three scores will receive a free pair of tickets to the opening night performance of YOUNG FRANKENSEIN (The All-New New Mel Brooks Musical) on October 25, 2011 in Rudder Auditorium at Texas A&M University.
OPAS Executive Director Anne Black states, “We are always looking for the fun and creative ways to partner with businesses in our community. We are proud to partner with our friends at The Farm Patch for this ‘scary’ contest. I should point out that – as fun as this contest is – YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is a musical that is suitable for adult audiences only. “
In addition to the scarecrow contest, OPAS will provide flyers with special ticket offers and a raffle for customers to enter for free tickets at The Farm Patch.
Tickets to YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN (October 25 & 26 • 7:30 PM) range from $27-$76 with special priced tickets available for students. To purchase, contact the MSC Box Office at 979-845-1234 or buy online at www.MSCOPAS.org.
