Vintage House Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Status: Full-Time

Work Schedule: Managers are expected to work the number of hours required to complete their duties (approximately 40 hours per week) Reports To: DE/VH Manager
Amount of Travel Required: n/a

POSITION SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for coordinating waitstaff, supervising all aspects of the Vintage House front of house and is responsible for the logistics of all events.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Restaurant
o Responsible for operations of restaurant, including opening and closing procedures
o Facilitate Messina Hof’s high standards of cleanliness and customer service
o Directly responsible for waitstaff hiring, firing and training
o Serve as the Manager on Duty
o Responsible for all cash and non-cash transactions
o Creation of waitstaff schedules according to event and reservation needs
o Maintain waitstaff files and process administrative paperwork regarding personnel, including, but not limited to Absence Requests, Disciplinary Forms, Counseling Forms, etc.
o Praise, motivate and discipline waitstaff
o Responsible for developing a weekly waitstaff meeting curricula (primary focus of these meetings will center on service, efficiency, MH wine knowledge, safety, teamwork, upcoming MH/DE Events, POS system, and restaurant/company procedures)
o Weekly meetings to be followed up by active evaluation of the staff on these focuses
o Identigy and communicate all items to be promoted based on goals to Vintage House staff
o Call on key accounts and network with Marketing department on ads and promotions
o Submit promotions and marketing suggestions, and collaborate with marketing to develop aggressive Vintage House marketing strategies
o Follows through on marketing events and programs in the Vintage House
o Maintain marketing materials for company-wide events for placement in Vintage House
o Answer incoming calls, take messages and reservations as needed
o Responsible for any necessary maintenance with knowledge of how to have things repaired
o Assist in maintenance of a 95 or better Health Department score
o Responsible for monthly Vintage House wine inventory at end of month and inventory reconciliation
o Share in responsibility for achieving sales goals and profitability, as well as growth and development of Vintage House sales. Increase market share of Vintage House.
o Responsible for sales calls to potential Vintage House customers and groups
o Make sales/promotional presentations to potential clients. Create and deliver presentations to individuals and/or groups
o Promote dinners, events, parties and repeat sales at the winery and Vintage House
o Sell, plan and coordinate Vintage House events including, but not limited to, Vintner’s Dinners, Table d’Hote lunches and dinners and Chef’s Tables
o Establish rapport and maintains relationships with Vintage House customers
o Other duties as assigned

• Events
o Responsible for event set-up, execution, tear down and clean-up of Vintage House and Designer Events events
o Responsible for weekly pre-event consultation with the sales team, Villa Manager, and the Client as needed
o Attend weekly event meeting and sales meeting
o Creation of waitstaff schedules according to event and reservation needs
o Coordinate dates and time of Vintage House events and issue proper paperwork
o Checking supply stock for up-coming events, writing purchase orders and delegating responsibility for procurement. Linens are delivered and are counted before they leave.
o Other duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Competency Statement(s)
• Experience in waitstaff relations including management, scheduling, planning, delegating tasks to provide superior food and beverage service
• Experience in waitstaff training, development and implementation of training programs
• Excellent communication skills, eye for detail, positive motivational attitude
• Event supervisor is required to work all Vintage House events as an active supervisor

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently required to carry equipment, tables, chairs and props as needed up and down the DE stairwells. The employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
