Job Status: Full Time
Work Schedule:
• Managers are expected to work the number of hours required to complete their tasks (approximately 45-55 hours/week)
• Must attend monthly Wine Appreciation Class and Sales Training (currently first Tuesday of each month) as well as the Managers Meeting and Managers’ Training (currently first Wednesday after the first Tuesday of each month)

Responsible for the growth, direction, and maintenance of Messina Hof Hill Country’s Guest Center and Manor Haus Bed and Breakfast. The purpose of the Messina Hof guest center is to welcome visitors of Messina Hof as family guests into the Messina Hof “living room” and to embrace them as personal friends of our Messina Hof family. Assist them in any way possible in selection, education, and consultation.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Responsible for oversight of sales and operations of entire Messina Hof Hill Country Winery, VIP Room and Manor Haus Bed and Breakfast
• Budgeting for expenses and revenue, including turning in semi-annual budgets
• Responsible for full facility profitability and hitting revenue and expense goals
• Report sales, proposals, marketing initiatives and insight to ownership on a regular basis
• Ensure staffing levels and food cost levels maintained within budgetary guidelines
• Responsible for all personnel management, including scheduling, hiring, firing, evaluating, development and training of all associate level employees and maintenance of communication with ownership on all personnel issues
• Scheduling retail workers and Manager on Duty, supervise and coordinate all winery activities
• Responsible for passing on to the administrative staff all things pertaining to administration of Messina Hof Hill Country Winery
• Ensure your department members receive appropriate training in all areas
• Develop merchandising plans and schedule execution
• Marketing and development of the Messina Hof Hill Country VIP and Wine Club programs and Manor Haus Bed and Breakfast programs
• Scheduling physical setup for special group events
• Work with Marketing department to develop advertising plans
• Coordination of gift preparation, maintain inventories of salable gift items and promotional materials
• Coordination of all transfers from Bryan to Fredericksburg facility (wine, gourmet foods, gift shop items, merchandise and supplies)
• Responsible for ensuring that minimum inventory levels are maintained for all wine, merchandise and supplies
• Coordinating with local businesses and festivals for strategic partnership opportunities and tourism trails
• Responsible for maintaining original records of all VIP and Wine Club members
• Responsible for maintaining deposit records and register processing
• Developing and executing sales goals and target products
• Maintaining daily ADS numbers and ADS histories by salesperson, sales calendars, manpower scheduling and tour statistics
• Responsible for all facility maintenance, including maintaining maintenance logs and coordinating all repairs within budgetary guidelines
• Responsible for ensuring completion of facility grounds keeping and maintaining professional appearance of Messina Hof Hill Country Winery and Manor Haus Bed and Breakfast
• Responsible for all shipping related to MHHC – Retail and wholesale maintaining shipping records, and all shipping follow up calls
• Be responsible for ensuring open and ongoing communication with administration and staff at MH Bryan
• Maintenance of all wine production equipment and reporting status on all bulk wine
• Sales:
• Retail and Manor Haus Bed and Breakfast sales and tastings
• Education of Messina Hof guests on wine as food, wine/food combinations and wine appreciation
• Coordinate hospitality training and wine training with MHHC retail staff
• Seasonal promotion of gifts and products
• Increase market share of retail room and wine bar
• Promote tours, tastings, parties, and repeat sales at the winery
• Establish rapport and maintain relationships with customers
• Identify and communicate all items to be promoted in tours and tastings based on goals to sales staff
• Create and market theme weekends and months throughout the year producing appropriate tour scripts, complementary products and supporting merchandising plan
• Book, host and do follow up with visiting presenters for weekend events
• Collaborate with marketing to develop aggressive retail marketing strategies
• Create and maintain a sales call program that promotes future sales and capitalizes on key sales opportunities in retail and wine bar.
• Work closely with Messina Hof Hill Country staff to promote and sell special events, products and services
• Achievement of guest center and Manor Haus Bed and Breakfast goals
• Oversee VIP and Wine Club and develop plans for pick-up parties and VIP receptions/events
• Inventory control:
• Budget, purchase, and reconcile guest center (wine and gift shop items) and Manor Haus Bed and Breakfast items
• Maintain 0 shrinkage
• Maintain daily knowledge of floor stock, case goods by vintage, and bulk wine inventories for sale
• Maintain accountability and inventory of all storage areas for items and supplies
• Maintain inventory levels are maintained for all wine, merchandise and supplies
• Conduct monthly inventories in accordance with procedure
• Account for all stock movements and adjustments
• Perform other duties as required

• Related degree and/or 3-5 years related experience

• Ability to use a personal computer to run registers, post daily sales and reconcile monies
