Work Schedule: Managers are expected to work the number of hours required to complete their tasks (approximately 40-45 hours/week)
Must attend monthly Manager’s Training (currently 1st Wednesday after the first Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m.).
Direct Supervisor: Operations Manager
Responsible for the growth, direction, and sales in Messina Hof’s Retail Department. The purpose of the Messina Hof tasting room & guest center is to welcome visitors of Messina Hof as family guests into the Messina Hof “living room” and to embrace them as personal friends of our Messina Hof family. Assist them in any way possible in selection, education, and consultation.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
• Assist Operations Manager with the following:
o Scheduling Tasting Room Associates and Manager on Duty, supervise and setup tours at the winery.
o Scheduling physical setup for special group events.
o Assuring daily maintenance of retail area-preparation, stocking,
o Coordination of gift preparation, maintain inventories of saleable gift items and promotional materials.
o Developing and executing sales goals and target products.
o Maintaining daily ADS numbers and ADS histories by
salesperson, sales calendars, manpower scheduling, and tour
o Gift and/or catalog mailer preparation with researched items to be featured, pricing, and target sales goals of each.
o Be responsible for ensuring open and ongoing communications with administration and staff.
o Ensure your department members receive appropriate sales
training in all areas.
o Responsible for physical maintenance of Tasting Room & Guest Center.
o Retail sales and tasting.
o Assisting Operations Manager in the directing of education of
Messina Hof guests in wine as food and wine/food combinations.
o Increase market share of Tasting Room and Guest Center.
o Promote tours, tastings, parties, and repeat sales at the winery.
o Establish rapport and maintain relationships with customers.
o Work with Operations Manager to identify and communicate all items to be promoted in tours and tastings based on goals to sales
o Assist Operations Manager in setting sales goals for all team members as well as tracking these goals against monthly sales.
o Assist with full facility profitability and hitting revenue and expense goals.
o Assist with monthly inventories in accordance with procedure.
• Inventory control
o Maintain 0 shrinkage.
o Maintain daily knowledge of floor stock, case goods by vintage, and bulk wine inventories for sale.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Related degree and/or 3-5 years related experience
• Good management skills and ability to supervise
• Leadership abilities
• Ability to use a personal computer to run registers, post daily sales and reconcile monies
