Job Summary: The Information Technology Professional II is responsible to meet the Information Technology needs of a unit where multifaceted expertise is required. Routinely performs advanced, troubleshooting, analysis, and problem-solving for unit-level support in multiple technical fields.

Job Duties: Resolves hardware and software problems with vendor technical support. Repairs hardware problems. Installs, configures and maintains both critical and non-critical software and hardware. Provides primary or secondary administration responsibility for assigned software products or system. Prepares specifications for purchases of hardware and software upgrades. Assists with production control, disaster recovery, networking, computer operations, or other operating systems.

Consults with users to define application requirements, identifies programming and output needs, verifies preliminary design and output. Recommends technical and procedural design for new or revised applications including flow charts, system specifications, programming guidelines and code review. Answers questions and provides technical assistance and/or training to application users. Produce reports and summaries for management and/or users including status reports, problem reports, progress summaries, and system utilization reports. Serves as a representative at technical conferences and business-related meetings. Works as a team member with other IT staff and cross trains in other systems within the unit.

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience. One year of experience may substitute for one year of education. Three years of related experience to include enterprise level application and systems support.

Valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain State of Texas class "C" vehicle operator's license within 30 days of employment.

TCP/IP, SQL, Relational Database, computer hardware, networking hardware and basics. Applications are core business applications related to Fleet management, inventory control, Fuel management and Transit management. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Special Instructions: Position will start as 8:00 am to 5:00 pm then transition to 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm after training period is completed (3 to 6 months). Compensation: $45,625 to $51,625 Annually
