COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Feb. 12, 2008 - A Texas A&M University graduate student won a national award last weekend for his work on the movie "Ratatouille."

Jon Reisch, a graduate student in Texas A&M's Visualization Lab - part of the new Department of Visualization in the College of Architecture - and three collaborators won in the "Outstanding Effects in an Animated Motion Picture" category from the Visual Effects Society.

Recognized in the category of "Effects in an Animated Motion Picture (food)" were Reisch, Jason Johnston, Eric Froemling and Tolga Goketkin.

Winners in the sixth annual VES Awards program were chosen in more than a dozen categories of film, television, animation, commercials and video games. Winners were announced at a gala on Sunday.
