Brenham, TX – Host families are needed for 25 more Up with People international students who will be arriving in Brenham, Monday, March 17, 2008. Up with People students from around the world will be performing the Up with People Show on Friday, March 21st, 7:30pm, at Brenham High School. Supporting Sponsors of the internationally acclaimed production are Appel Dodge and the BHS Student Council. Media Sponsors include The Brenham Banner Press, KTEX, and KBTX Media.

Host families can volunteer to take one or more students into their homes for the week long stay (March 17th – 24th). Families will be asked to provide Up with People students with sleeping accommodations; limited local transportation in the mornings and evenings; and breakfast, a few dinners and lunches. As a thank you, each host family will receive two complimentary tickets to the Up with People Show.

“When you become a host family for an Up with People student, you bring the world into your home,” said Jessica Trabert, Tour Coordinator for Up with People. “These students bring their life and enthusiasm, culture and stories into your home. The requirements are minimal for hosting, but the rewards are incredible.”

“I have met so many wonderful people during my time in Up with People,” said Linn Schulz from Sweden, current Up with People student and advance team member. “By the time my semester is over I will have families all over the world. It’s amazing how close you become in such a short amount of time.”

For more information about hosting an Up with People student, buying tickets for the Up with People Show and Up with People’s community service involvement with The Boys & Girls Club of Washington County and Brenham School District, please call Jessica Trabert at 979-277-6533.
