This week I would like to introduce you to Love And Theft, a country duo you are probably familiar with because of their hit single, “Angel Eyes, from their self-titled album. The duo is made up of Stephen Barker Liles and Eric Gunderson, both of whom play guitar and sing vocals. The two are nominated for “Vocal Duo of The Year” for this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards, on Sunday April 7th.
I am thrilled that the two are getting some more recognition for their music! I saw Love & Theft in concert back in August and was blown away by the quality of their vocals. The guys’ voices blended so flawlessly; throughout the show, one of them would stop singing on a verse, allowing the other to take over, and had I not been looking, I would have missed the transition entirely.
Their latest album is truly incredible, with thoughtful lyrics, amazing vocals, and a perfect balance between serious and fun. My recommendations from their sophomore, self-titled album include their current single, “Running Out of Air”, “Town Drunk”, “Amen”, and “If You Ever Get Lonely”.
For more information on the duo visit their official website.
Below I’ve included a video of an unreleased song, “You Didn’t Want Me”, that I recorded at their concert I attended in August.
