Psy's "Gangnam Style" has become so popular that it's inspired everyone from California lifeguards to the North Korean government, so at this point, nothing about its success is surprising ... except for this.

According to the UK's The Guardian, "Gangnam Style" was the driving force behind "a 'West Side Story'-esque" shootout between two gangs in Bangkok, Thailand, who reportedly engaged in a spirited dance-off before exchanging gun fire.

Citing a local news agency, The Guardian reports that two rival gangs were dining in the same restaurant when "the younger members of both groups danced provocatively at each other in the manner of top hit 'Gangnam Style.' " Those moves then escalated into a heated argument, and eventually a gun battle, where one of the gangs fired at least 50 shots. No one was injured in the incident, according to local police, though many vehicles parked on a road were damaged in the shootout. Authorities have questioned several witnesses and are seeking arrest warrants for the shooters.

A rep for Psy could not be reached for comment on the matter by press time. And though his hit may have caused a shootout in the streets, things aren't all bad for the South Korean sensation these days. "Gangnam Style" has just been declared the "most-liked video in YouTube history" by the folks at Guinness World Records, racking up more than 2.1 million likes to surpass LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" and Justin Bieber's "Baby."
