The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine and Prince William are set to give Brits an extra special Christmas gift - the royal is pregnant, according a close friend and former school pal. Jessica Hay reveals the former Kate Middleton and her husband Prince William will officially announce the baby news early next month (Dec12). The child will be the couple's first. Hay tells Life & Style magazine, "I have this on the highest authority, and it's not to be taken lightly. It's going to be wonderful, happy news when it's announced." Adding, "They have been talking about William and Catherine having children for quite some time." And she expects the couple to make perfect parents: "William will definitely be a hands-on dad and not rely heavily on nannies to raise his and Catherine's children. They both try to be as normal as possible in their private lives, and that of course is going to continue when they have children." ***FILE PHOTOS*** FameFlynet, Inc - Beverly Hills, CA, USA - +1 (818) 307-4813 RESTRICTIONS APPLY: USA ONLY
Kate Middleton's due date is official!
Well, sort of. Clarence House announced Monday morning that the Duchess of Cambridge, pregnant with her and Prince William's first child, is expecting the baby in July. According to AP, the royal couple "are delighted to confirm" the due date, although they still won't tell the world whether it's a boy or a girl, but the announcement seems to indicate that she is not, in fact, expecting twins.
A July due date comes as a bit of a surprise: When the palace first announced Catherine's pregnancy in early December, reports speculated that the duchess was about 12 weeks along, putting her due date in May or June of 2013. A July due date means the announcement must have come even earlier, an unconventional move supposedly forced by Kate's worsening morning sickness, or hyperemesis gravidarum.
These days Kate seems healthy and happy as can be, smiling at the unveiling of her first formal portrait last Thursday. According to the AP, the palace confirms today that "the duchess's condition continues to improve."
And thus the baby bump watch continues...
