Lately I have been overwhelmed with life, drowning in deadlines and have-to-do this and have-to-do that where I have had ZERO time to reflect, think, and take care of myself.

Luckily, I finally get to enjoy the weekend with my fiancé! You heard me people-Trent is coming in town! Elvis is (about to be) in the building! Which means date night, date afternoon, date morning, go on a date for no reason, go on a date because we are finally together, go on a date to be lovey dovey in public-I can hardly wait! FINALLY we get to be the couple that actually gets to be seen together out and about-like a normal relationship maybe?

Trent is coming in town to FINALLY go to a Kappa Kappa Gamma date party. It’s formal which means I get to break out my old prom dress again! (First and last date party-but who’s counting.) So many finally’s because-y’all-I’ve been missing him and although it’s been about a month-one day is a day too long-it seems like it’s been YEARS.

With graduation preparations, job hunting, wedding planning, and last-few-weeks-goodbying, a lot needs to be done, there are a lot of events to go to-which means YOU HAVE SOME $HOPPING TO DO! And since J.Crew, Anthropologie, and The Loft isn’t necessarily in your price range (ok let’s be honest, sometimes Target and Old Navy aren’t even in your budget) perhaps finding deals at Plato’s Closet would interest you! Men and women of any size and (almost) any age can find trendy threads and brand named clothes for more than half the price!

Or even if you’re in need of some extra cash-like me, sell your clothes at Plato’s Closet and you could make bank! For instance, my creamy pastel yellow gown I wore to formal required a complimentary colored splash of purple-and of course I was set on a pair on Kendra Scott’s. And in order to afford a pair of violet stoned statement ear candies- I needed to make a few…sixty bucks to feel guilty free when I strutted across the dance floor with those bad girls on! And vuala! A few less clothes in my closet later and look at me now!

To recap me and Trent’s weekend together let me just say that it was-as always-so sad to see him go! Whenever he’s in Aggieland the feeling I get when both of my world’s collide is probably the most giddy I ever ever get. Ever seen Disney’s Enchanted with Amy Adams? Yep…fluttering eyes n’ all.

Not only did I get to walk the sidewalks of Texas A&M’s campus with him on Ring Day, but we got some much needed quality time, went on a few dates-I even got to wear heels…hey-it’s not like he’s only a foot taller than me or anything-we talked about life and laughed and soaked up the sun and watched the planes fly by, daydreaming that they were all going to Disneyworld, oh-and he got to also spend time with my friends and their boyfriends-isn’t it the cutest thing when boyfriends bond? I think so anyway…

Since Trent and I are go-getters we rarely have time to bask in life’s simplicities.

However-we did discover a hiking trail off of Holleman with willowing trees, and ponds, and fountains, and streams, and wildflowers, and romantic resting spots for two lovebirds-and not the flying kinds. We also rested and ended the night with DreamWorks’ The Croods. This is definitely a movie to snuggle up to when life doesn’t keep you off the couch. It’s a hilariously-entertaining animated film about taking risks and not hiding in your shell/circle of friends-or in The Croods’ case-their cave. Although, in my opinion-it was funnier in theaters, this fun-filled, wild ride of a story still had us giggling as we went on their adventure, while eating frozen grapes and snuggling up under warm blankets.

Someday soon-I can’t wait to have time more time for nature walks! Until then, it was an absolute joy running around town with him from one happy memory to the other. With Parent’s Weekend, Formal, Kappa Krawfish, Ring Weekend, and Trent Weekend all happening in a three day time period-you can say I’m ready for summer. Isn’t it interesting that even though life is so much fun it can be exhausting? You’d think that because you’re constantly filled with happiness you would have endless energy-But by the end of it all…I need a Redbull y’all.

Carpe Diem!

To wrap this weekend up, sending my man on his marry way back to the windy city of Lubbock-I had a realization that this will be the last time he is in town before I walk the stage at graduation and become a Former Student of Texas A&M. I’ll turn around my ring with the class year facing toward the world, rotating my tassel from left to right (or however it goes) with my grandpa alongside, staring up at Reed Arena-knowing I had just completed one of the greatest chapters in my life.

Life is going fast-so hold on tight friends, no matter how bumpy a ride yours is!

In the meantime-we just passed Palm Sunday and you know what that means-one week from yesterday (ish) 2,000 years ago-Jesus rose again! The best story ever to happen-ever to be told! And I’m excited to go home and celebrate His almightiness! No matter how you spend your Easter weekend-always remember that Jesus is the Reason for the Season!

One final announcement: Engagement pictures will be taken Saturday the 19th folks! We’re excited but nervous…we’ve never taken professional pics before! Wish us well!

Have a magical Monday and be kind to one another!
