So this week I decided to change things up a bit and give y’all my top eight favorite books since I am writing for the wonderful CW “8” Aggieland. Reading is one of my all-time favorite things to do. There is just something I love about sitting down and getting totally lost in a book. Well here we go!
1. Tell No One by Harlan Coben
I can honestly never shut up about this book so of course it is my number one choice! Harlan Coben is my favorite writer of all time. I have read about twenty books by him and honestly I have never been disappointed. Tell No One has an amazing plot and I have recommended it to numerous people and I have never heard one bad thing about it. The book takes place eight years after Dr. David Beck’s wife was abducted and murdered. Beck has never gotten over what happened to his wife, and one day he receives an email from an anonymous source and it has a message that only he and his dead wife would know. Which leads him to think could she really still be alive? The book follows him on his hunt to find out what really happened the night she was abducted and if there is any possibility she is still alive. If there is any book you consider to read on this list let it be this one, you will not be disappointed!
2. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
So I have to say I am definitely a sucker for the classic romance novels. Pride and Prejudice is amazing; I mean let’s be honest ladies what girl doesn’t dream of having her own Mr. Darcy coming to sweep her off her feet?! Lizzie and Darcy are one of the all time famous love stories and I recommend this to anyone that is interested in romance.
3. A Time to Kill by John Grisham
A Time to Kill is an intense drama that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Grisham does a great job of showing how things were in the south at that certain time. In this book an African-American man is on trial for murdering two white men, the same two white men who raped his little girl. This book will take you through a whirl of emotions and leave you breathless at the end. I love this book and I actually really loved the film adaptation of this book. Definitely a must read!
4. Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
I am not ashamed to say that I definitely got “sucked” into the whole Twilight Saga, and yes I did just make a vampire analogy. Twilight is the first book in the series and we are introduced to the beginning of one of the most epic couples in book history. In this book Bella Swan meets the mysterious Edward Cullen and is immediately drawn to him. Even though she knows something is different about him she just can’t seem to stay away and neither can Edward. After finally finding out what Edward is Bella is soon thrown into the dangers of being involved with vampires and will do whatever she has to do to protect the people she loves.
5. New Moon by Stephanie Meyer
New Moon is the second book of four in the Twilight Saga and I was just heartbroken while reading it. After an incident occurs between Bella and one of Edward’s brothers, Edward feels the best thing to do is to leave Bella and let her try to live a normal life. In this book we see the friendship between Bella and Jacob grow and we are constantly wondering if Edward will ever return. I loved all these books, but if I had to choose my least favorite it would be this one because I am such an Edward fan and he just isn’t in the book as much as I would have liked. I did love watching Jacob and Bella’s relationship grow because you know deep down he only wants what is best for her and I can’t hate on a guy that has those kinds of intentions! Definitely still a good book!
6. Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer
Eclipse is the third book in this saga and was my favorite! I loved it because we saw Bella and Edward’s relationship really start to grow, but we also still got to see Jacob in the book and there can’t be a book without a little drama and this one has plenty of it.
7. Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer
Breaking Dawn is the last and final book of the Twilight Saga, to my disappointment, and is broken down into three parts. The first part is from Bella’s perspective, the second is from Jacob’s and the last is back to Bella. This book has so much going on in it. Spoiler alert! We finally get to see Bella as a vampire and get to meet Bella and Edward’s little girl, Renesmee!!! After finally feeling like they have it all the Cullens are soon finding themselves facing a war with the Volturri, the law enforcing vampires, and will do whatever it takes to keep their family safe. I have been to every midnight premiere for these movies and I already have my ticket for this last one. I am feeling very bittersweet emotions over it because I can’t wait to see it, but yet I don’t want it to be over. Don’t judge me if you happen to be in the same theater as me and you see some tears shed because I can guarantee you there will be plenty!
8. The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks
Nicholas Sparks is such an amazing writer. I don’t know how he gets the ideas for his books, but I’m not arguing with it because they are all so good! This man has some serious romance skills! This book is about young love and also a family piecing itself back together. I was in tears while reading this book; Sparks does a fantastic job and this book will always be one of my favorites.
