The College Station City Council Thursday night approved a contract to hire a third party consultant to rate the condition of city streets.

Councilmembers voted to sign a contract for $57,200 with Gessner Engineering for a roadway condition analysis and pavement management plan update.

The company will determine which streets need improvements.

A crew from Gessner will rate the streets based on many criteria in the coming weeks.
