TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY- It was a media circus on the Texas A&M campus as Johnny Manziel tried to prove himself pro worthy to NFL scouts.
"I want to go into this and show these teams who I am as a person and who I am in the football facilities that not everybody here gets to see," said Manziel. "So for me, I'm just trying to show those guys who I am and how I am as a person and have fun with it."
According to A&M officials, this is one of the largest and most talked about pro days they have ever hosted and Johnny Football did not disappoint. Since he first took the stage in 2012, Manziel mania has swept the nation and has become a favorite subject of major sports networks.
"As far as pro days go, he was outstanding," said ESPN commentator Todd McShay. He said Manziel's unpredictable movements on and off the field are captivating to fans, coaches and teams who attended the pro day.
Former President George H.W. Bush and former First Lady, Barbara, cheered on the Heisman Trophy winner as he threw for 75 officials from 30 teams.
"I've been to Tim Tebow's [pro day], Cam Newton's, all of these guys and I have seen some circuses before, but his takes the cake," McShay said. "Anytime you get a former president to come to your pro day, you win that battle."
NFL Network analyst and Super Bowl MVP Kurt Warner said Manziel is as unpredictable off the field as he is on the field.
"Nobody is really sure what you get with Johnny Manziel and you don't want to miss what's next," Warner said. "You don't want to miss that special play or that special pro day that he has, or whatever that is about Johnny Manziel that makes him different."
Many words can describe Johnny Football, but all of the media outlets agreed that he is the one to watch.
