CS Man Arrested After Running From Investigators

Posted: Tue 9:45 AM, Feb 05, 2013

A College Station man has been arrested after running from investigators trying to serve a felony warrant for his arrest.

According to the Brazos County Sheriff's Office, Cory James Middleton, 24, was wanted for evading arrest out of Madison County.

Around 5 p.m. Monday, Brazos County deputies tried to arrest Middleton at a home on Andert Road and Highway 21 in Wixon Valley, but he fled before they arrived.

Multiple agencies, including a Bryan Police K-9 unit, searched the area. A Department of Public Safety helicopter searched from above.

A reverse 9-1-1 call was sent out to residents in the area asking them to stay inside and report anything suspicious.

The search was called off around 8 p.m.

Madison County Sheriff Travis Neeley says Middleton is suspected of leading deputies on a high speed pursuit last week near North Zulch.

A deputy ended up crashing his patrol car into a tree.

Investigators say Middleton was transporting more than $35,000 in stolen property.
