This week I promised I’d bring you an app that saves you money. The app is called RedLaser Barcode Scanner. I’ve been using this app for over a year now, and when I remember that I have it, I really do save money. Basically what it does is, you scan the barcode of say, a book or a box of cereal, RedLaser then searches for a cheaper deal available locally or through the Internet. It doesn’t just work in the big name superstores. It works at grocery stores and even pharmacies. I use it mostly for finding the best price on books or magazines. The biggest problem I have with the app is that I always forget I have it. The best way to remember you have it, is to write RedLaser at the top of your grocery list. Then let your kids scan the barcodes, it will keep them entertained and it will keep a little more money in your pocket. That is unless they drop your phone… then you might have a little less money in your pocket.
