Today it's a double dose of fashion.
First, before the Florida game I addressed how to have style on a SEC Gameday. Now, the Arkansas game nears I want to quickly cover a trend A&M pulls off perfectly.
Shorts and Cowboy Boots: I’m obsessed, it’s Texan to a T. My three favorite ways Aggie gals do this look is with white laced shorts (go winter white!), jean cutoffs, and the romper.
Okay, now to the bootie.
This weekend my awesome parents treated me to the best Sunday ever: shopping. As I went through my list of what I need (yes need, not want) booties was at the very top! Then dark thoughts quickly consumed my fashion-focused brain, booties can be slightly scary. It’s a trend not many people take on, and I was venturing into an unknown world. Finally, I took a breather and started thinking rationally, I've already been down the bootie path once before a few years ago. They were adorable black suede stilettos that were permanently attached to my feet in the Winter of 2009. My panic came to an end, and now yours can too!
First you have to decide whether you’re going flat, laid-back bootie, or a classy, heeled bootie. This round, I decided to go with the Nine West flat grey bootie pictured below.
Now that’s you’ve decided on that, don’t be afraid of this trend, booties are actually very versatile!
Shorts: This could be the most daring and fashion forward way to wear the bootie, but who doesn’t love the Boho Chic it adds to your ensemble? Not to mention, adding booties with shorts is a great way to remix your Spring/Summer shorts, and save money! You can also dress it up for a night out! Try metallic shorts, black tights, and black booties, that will be sure to turn head while you’re strutting down Northgate! Here's some celebrity inspiration brought to you by Kate Bosworth and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Skirts and Dresses: Go flirty with a flat, or sexy in stilettos. I suggest when wearing your flat booties, try a girly patterned, a-line dress with a leather jacket for the ultimate collaboration of sweet and spicy. You can also take hint from Pippa Middleton who went simple and sleek or Kristin Kruek who rocked it out in all black.
(For shorts, skirts, and dresses add tights or go bare legged depending on the temperature)
Skinnies: Adding skinnies with your booties is the simplest way! Elle Macpherson keeps it simple with neutral basics, but if you want to glam it up, I suggest adding flashy jewelry like big turquoise earring!
Pretty easy huh? Now send me pictures of how you do booties and I could show you off on my next blog!
