Beauty with Breanne: The Art of Contouring

If you’re anything like me, you aren’t in love the shape of your cheeks. I’ve always felt I was “blessed” with “chipmunk cheeks.” I know I’m not alone in this struggle. As a beauty consultant, I always had customers feeling they needed a cheek trim down or instant facelift.

Contouring is the quick fix to the problem! This simple, yet effective trick does more than just give a lifted appearance to cheeks and it can help define facial features and reduce certain features (for example a larger-than-wanted nose.)

Here’s how it works … and all you need is a darker colored brown blush and a soft-bristle brush.

For cheeks/instant facelift: Use a small amount of brown blush and line the bottom of your cheekbone with the brush. Then, with your normal blush color, highlight your cheekbone and blend to right above your ears.

For “nose reduction”: Use a small amount of brown blush to make a line going down each side of your nose. This will slightly darken the areas that make your nose appear larger.

For facial definition (jaw, hairline): Use a small amount of brown blush and blend it around your jaw and hairline. This will give you a more defined jaw and hairline. It really works!

Now, with all of these tricks, practice before you want to use it for a big day! Make sure you are comfortable so it’s not stressful. Maybe even practice at night before you take off your makeup. You don’t want to add the stress of perfecting a new makeup technique on an already stressful day!
