Bryan, TX June 28, 2014 – Over 400 people enjoyed the sun, music, and a LOT of craft brewed beer at the Phillips Event Center at Briarcrest this past Saturday, all for a great cause. The Brazos Valley Craft Beer & Music Festival, presented by The Barracks Townhomes, raised over $35,000 for Jace Arbuckle, who has fought cancer for the last 7 years.
“While I appreciate the help with my medical bills, the outpouring of support I am feeling amongst friends today means so much more. I am afraid my fight with this disease is not done, but the inspiration afforded me today will give me the strength to beat this!”, said Jace Arbuckle, who has been fighting stage II invasive thymoma since 2007.
Kicked off with 24 golf teams in the morning, 5 breweries in the afternoon, and capped off by live music poolside, the Brazos Valley Craft Beer & Music Festival exceeded all expectations of success in its first year of what is planned to be an annual event. Revelers sampled frosty beverages from Tree Farm Brewing Co., Black Water Draw Brewing Co., New Republic Brewing Co., Karbach Brewing Co., and Southern Star Brewing Company. Heath Phillips, who conceived and sponsored the event through his company, The Barracks Townhomes, said “Grant Graham and I are so happy and proud to help Jace, who we’ve known since grade school right here in College Station. I want to thank all our sponsors and donors today, but most of all I want to thank Jace, whose strength in the face of such a debilitating disease continues to be an inspiration to us all.”
