Nothing kicks off the Christmas season like singing and dancing from some amazing A&M students. Every year Chi Omega hosts an event called Songfest where men and women organizations team up to perform different musical numbers. This creates a sensational variety show!
Every group has a different theme so there’s always something for everyone. These organizations have been preparing for months on perfecting their performances. As a Songfest participant myself, I can tell you that my organization has been working very hard and I am so excited to show off our dancing skills. It has been a great opportunity to raise awareness for our group and be apart of something bigger. Songfest is an event you cannot miss!
If the catchy tunes aren’t enough for you, the philanthropy will be. Chi Omega raised over $104,000 at last years Songfest. This money is donated to Make-A-Wish Foundation and Still Creek Girls Ranch. The winners of Songfest also receive money to donate to their charity of choice as well. So when you purchase a ticket or a t-shirt, your money will be well spent!
Songfest 2012 will take place this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, at Rudder Auditorium. The show begins at 7 pm and you can purchase tickets online through the MSC Box Office or at the night of the show. Pre-ordered tickets are $12 and then $15 on the night of.
It’s going to be two wonderful nights filled with awesome songs and great dances so you don’t want to miss out! Grab a friend or two and head out this weekend!
