College Colors Day is now on Friday, due to the cancellation of the Louisiana Tech game.

COLLEGE STATION — Aggies around the world are encouraged to don their favorite maroon and white apparel to show their support of Texas A&M University on College Colors Day this Thursday (Aug. 30).

While College Colors Day, which encourages people across the country to wear the colors of their favorite college or university to promote the college experience, will be celebrated nationwide on Aug. 31, Texas A&M will mark the day on Thursday, Aug. 30, since the Aggies will begin the 2012 football season that evening against Louisiana Tech in Shreveport, La.

Aggies can RSVP to participate in College Colors Day by visiting http://tx.ag/5dc474. They are also encouraged to post spirited photos of themselves “marooning out” their workplaces, classrooms or communities to the university’s official Facebook page.

The campus community has even more incentive to wear maroon and white on Thursday. The Barnes & Noble at Texas A&M University bookstore is currently offering T-shirts at 25 percent off through Sept. 1 and will also offer $1 Venti iced coffee and tea on Aug. 30 to any customer wearing maroon.

“We want Aggies everywhere to join us in this celebration by wearing their maroon and white on Thursday,” said Texas A&M President R. Bowen Loftin ’71. “This is an excellent opportunity for Aggies to visually show the power of the Aggie Spirit around the world.”
