It’s Thirsty Thursday y’all! What’s better than fall and alcohol? Nothing I can think of. With fall starting to show it’s lovely self these past couple of weeks, light jacket weather begins, outdoor activities sky rocket and the line for Pumpkin Spice Latte’s at Starbucks is out the door. This week, skip the Starbucks, plan a date night on the porch to enjoy the autumn air and make some Fall in a Glass.
All you need is:
• 1 oz Malibu Rum
• 1 oz Kahlua
• 6 oz milk
• 1/3 tsp cinnamon
• ½ - 1 tsp pumpkin pie filling (depending on how “pumpkin-y” you want to get)
• Crushed graham crackers
Whip out your blender and throw the first five ingredients in with a few ice cubes and blend thoroughly. Place the rim of your glass in the crushed graham crackers, pour in your pumpkin mixture, sprinkle some cinnamon on top and voila! Fall in a Glass.
Let’s carry on this pumpkin theme with a “Great Pumpkin” cheese ball. Clearly, I can’t get enough cheese but hey, have to get that dairy in somehow right?!
Ingredients for this masterpiece include:
• 2 (10 oz) blocks of extra sharp white cheddar cheese, shredded
• 1 (8 oz) package of cream cheese, softened
• 2 (4 oz) goat cheese blocks, softened
• ½ tsp of pepper
• Braided pretzels
• Crackers, assorted veggies for serving
In a bowl, add the first four ingredients and stir together. Once mixed, shape the mixture into a pumpkin shape, smoothing the outside with a knife, using your fingers to add the pumpkin grooves. Add the pretzel to the top of the cheese pumpkin to resemble the stem. Serve with your left over braided pretzels, crackers, or veggies, whatever your little heart desires!
If that’s not the perfect way to welcome fall, I don’t know what is. And you know I can’t mention the “Great Pumpkin” without some Charlie Brown.
