Kate Middleton and Prince William were not in harm's way when an officer accidently fired a shot while sitting in a vehicle outside the royal couple's North Wales home.
The same, however, can't be said about the car's floor.
"Shortly before 1pm on Wednesday October 24 an on-duty MPS police officer unintentionally discharged a firearm while in an unmarked police vehicle," a MET Police spokesperson told the Daily Mirror.
"The round damaged the floor of the vehicle. Another on-duty officer was in the vehicle at the time of the incident. Neither officer was injured."
The incident at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's pad is currently being investigated by Scotland Yard.
Meanwhile, in other royal news, Prince Charles and Camilla begin their 13-day Diamond Jubilee tour tomorrow in Papua New Guinea before heading over to Australia and New Zealand.
