After more than a year of hinting, Lady Gaga announced that her new album ARTPOP will be released on November 11, 2013. This comes off the heels of Gaga canceling her world-wide tour "Born This Way Ball" due to a broken hip (for which she uses a gold wheelchair) resulting in an estimated $25 million in gross ticket sales loss Billboard
But in true Lady Gaga fashion, she is making her comeback, releasing her new multimedia mastery, ARTPOP.
According to Billboard, Gaga's fans could be "left delightfully puzzled." Gaga's Facebook post said, ARTPOP "musically mirrors Gaga's creative process as she passes through the medium of each artist she collaborates with". It will be a blueprint representation of her musical journey. There will be a combination of "a 'rage' of electronic passion and fury defining each artistic process from beginning to end and ARTPOP could mean anything," said the statement.
Gaga will accompany her album with an app, allowing her fans to have an interactive experience.
"The app itself is a musical and visual engineering system that combines music, art, fashion and technology with a new interactive worldwide community — 'the auras.' Altering the human experience with social media, we bring ARTculture into POP in a reverse Warholian expedition," Gaga explained on Facebook.
But the Gaga streak does not end there. On Nov. 10, she will reveal "artRAVE" which is an exhibit celebrating various aspects of ARTPOP, one day before the album releases.
The first single will drop on August 19 and pre-orders for the album will kick off September 1.
Rejoice fans, the Haus of Gaga is back and open for business!
